TITEB provides Tiwi organisations with the opportunity to take on apprentices or
trainees under a group training arrangement. Apprenticeships and traineeships are fully funded and available in over 500 occupations combining work with training. Qualifications range from Certificate II to Diploma level. They can be full-time, part-time or school-based, and take from 12 months to 4 years to complete.
Lots of people wonder what is the difference between traineeships and apprenticeships. Traineeships cover a variety of industry qualifications, such as Sports and Recreation, Business and Community Services, while apprenticeships cover the traditional trades such as mechanics, carpentry, and plumbing. Either way, participants are working towards qualifications based on current workplace requirements and opportunities.
Apprenticeships and traineeships are available to new and existing workers. We will help employers select and recruit the right people, and handle all the necessary paperwork and administrative arrangements. We also provide mentoring for participants throughout the course, and coordinate any off the job training. Literacy and numeracy support is available at the Training Centre.
