At Milikapati School, TITEB provides daily lunch and afternoon tea/fruit break for around 40 children.
The school also provides a big breakfast every Monday morning.
The ladies in the kitchen are family members of students, committed to cooking wholesome and nutritious meals to give the kids the energy they need to learn. Meals are varied according to seasonal produce and special occasions, always with health and nutrition as the number one priority.
All meals are prepared in a fully-equipped kitchen at the school. Our kitchen staff, including the kitchen supervisor and two assistants have completed certificates in food preparation, food handling, cooking and Work Health and Safety at CDU.
Kitchen staff are supported by a mentor/co-ordinator who oversees the day-to-day activities, collates data and reports to the funding body, the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
