TITEB is committed to keeping COVID-19 out of the Tiwi Islands.
Since 2020, TITEB has settled into the ‘new normal’ of COVID-19. As part of our COVID response we went above and beyond, investing $20,000 in commercial cleaning of every TITEB facility. We were actively registering people and taking temperatures long before QR codes were mandatory and 80% of our staff are fully vaccinated.
Today, all our services are run with the appropriate health and safety measures in place, in accordance with guidance from the Tiwi Land Council, the NTG and Australian Government.
Services for schools
Our School Nutrition Programs (SNP) at Pirlangimpi and Milikapiti, and Remote School Attendance Strategy (RSAS) returned to services from the start of Term 2, 2021.
Education & training
The Training Centre (RTO #4742) returned to services for enrolments and existing students in Wurrumiyanga on June 22, 2021.
Community Development Program
In May 2021, CDP policy changes were announced, which made participation voluntary. While job seekers will continue to be supported to find employment and work within their communities, we can no longer guarantee delivery of important community services.
