Back to School Walk

Our RSAS team & the Cathy Freeman Foundation hosted the 2020 Back to School Walk and breakfast BBQ. Along with staff from MCPS and Xavier College, we provided breakfast for the children who joined in the walk and attended school on the first day back.

The children were excited to be heading back to school after a long holiday break and they all went to class with full bellies. The community, including local Police, Tiwi Islands Regional Council, Night Patrol, teachers and parents, got behind the event and we received lots of positive feedback.

Attendance rates for the first week at Wurrumiyanga schools have been excellent, with 250 students present at MCPS and 162 students at Xavier College. Let’s keep up the good work!
