Tiwi Futures Expo

The 2023 Tiwi Futures Expo was held in August at the Nguiu Club and it was our biggest and best expo yet!

Based on community feedback, we moved the event from the school to the club to make it feel more welcoming for families and jobseekers. The Nguiu Club, Tiwi Islands Regional Council and AFL NT kindly offered their support, including use of the venue and oval.

Over 60 organisations took part by donating goods, running stalls, and sharing training, jobs and services. Students, families and jobseekers engaged really well, and many stallholders said they were impressed with the interest and conversations they had.

We also welcomed visitors from Thamarrurr Catholic College, continuing our partnership after attending their Futures Event earlier this year.

Thanks to everyone who helped out – it really showed what we can achieve when we work together. We’re already planning how for our next event, and we’d love your ideas!
