TITEB’s Tiwi School Support Services (TSSS) is aimed at ensuring all school-aged children attend school on a regular basis.
As the Tiwi Islands TSSS provider since 2014, TITEB has a good understanding of the issues and strengths of each community. Our TSSS Community Attendance Plans are informed by this knowledge, together with input from school principals and the community.
Community Attendance Plans outline daily activities, events and initiatives aimed at getting all school-aged children to school every day. The TSSS Coordinator regularly meets with school principals in each community to monitor progress.
TSSS team members, known as Yellow Shirts, engage with Tiwi families on a daily basis, providing support and helping people understand importance of education. They lead by example, making education the number one priority in their own families.
