Starting in 2020, TITEB provides daily lunch and afternoon tea/fruit break for around 34 children at Pularumpi School.
All meals are prepared in a fully-equipped kitchen within the school grounds. The ladies in the kitchen have children at the school, and are committed to cooking wholesome and nutritious meals to give the kids the energy they need to learn.
Meals are varied according to seasonal produce and special occasions, always with health and nutrition as the number one priority. The children look forward to their favourite, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Butter Chicken is a close second.
All kitchen staff, including the part-time Supervisor and two School Meal Workers have completed the Safe Food Handling certificate online. They also traveled to Milikapiti to see how the program is run there and to get advice from Agnes.
Our TITEB co-ordinator oversees the day-to-day activities and collates data for reporting back to the funding body, the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
