TITEB work with employers on the Tiwi Islands and beyond to identify skills
shortages and future needs, and then plan and deliver suitable training.
We can also assist employers with upskilling current staff to remain up-to-date with industry standards. Through our work, all Tiwi benefit from a growing pool of skilled and confident local people, reducing the need to source staff from outside the community.
Students receive practical training to build confidence and competence in their work. Those who complete accredited courses also earn nationally recognised certificates or statements that can lead to further study and career opportunities. They also give students a great sense of pride and achievement.
We are grateful for government funding programs that support delivery of training on the Tiwi Islands. Where possible, we provide programs to eligible employers or individuals free of charge or at heavily subsidised rates. We also provides support to employers or students in accessing available government incentive payments to further support the achievement of training outcomes.
With a limited number of job vacancies available on the islands, we aim to provide skills to local people to grow community capability and boost local employment, benefiting the community at large.
