Missing School Is Hard Work

It’s really hard getting kids to school with no support from the parents. They always give us the same answers – dirty clothes, hungry, sick, tired. These parents are not supporting their kids’ future or the future of the community.

After the Darwin Show a lot of families didn’t come back until mid-Term 3. It makes it really hard to get kids back into the routine. They find it very hard after Darwin Show and long break bush holiday, camping, hunting, enjoying themselves.

Most of them are back now, but the footy has started. Now some boys are going to Darwin to play on the weekend and sometimes they don’t come back. It’s not good to miss out on school, it makes it hard.
