In May, the Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board conducted for its CDP participants a White Card Training to assist community members with getting a necessary qualification to do construction work. A group of 12 men had worked hard to complete these certificates and stay motivated throughout the process and we are proud to announce that they have successfully completed their White Card Training and have also received their certificates to Prepare To Work Safely in the Construction Industry.

Valerian had been offered a job with the Bathurst Islands Housing Association (BIHA) as a Builder Labourer and was able to commence work once he completed his White Card Training. Maverick has applied for construction jobs on the island and is hopeful for employment now that he has the necessary qualification.

Congratulations to you both and the other 10 men! TITEB are proud of your efforts.
